If you have just recently started reading our blog, I am thrilled to introduce you to our little tradition. At the beginning of every season, my husband and I host a party to celebrate and capture the essence of that season. Our fall party was the first and our winter soup party was amazing.
In addition to blankets, I found those adorable floor pillows at Target to use for seating. I placed trays and plates in the seating areas for guests to place their drinks on (and just to look cute!).
For lunch, each family was given a gable box filled with picnic goodies. Boxes and food containers were purchased from Paper Mart. I added a little paper, some cricut letters and voila!
A glimpse inside:
Lunch consisted of the most delicious potato salad I have ever had (and I do not even like patato salad- thanks Shae!), strawberries, carrots and a homemade cookie. I had guests bring their own sandwiches.
Round labels and cloth ribbon purchase from Paper Source.I used wrapping paper from Target and Paper Source to wrap bottles and napkins:
Even little baby water bottles for the little guys:
A few more details:
And what is a picnic without bubbles?
What I loved about this party the most was that it was so mellow. We just relaxed, ate and played. Such a great day! The decor from this party can easily be transferred to a shower or birthday party as well.
Enjoy what is left of Spring everyone!

Looks like so much fun! Now I want to go picnic. I love the lunch boxes! I've been looking for where to buy boxes like that, so thanks for the tip.
So cute!! It was be a perfect idea for a little girls birthday party in the park too- love the picnic lunches!
Michelle- you can also get them from Garnish- more expensive, but you can buy them by the piece, rather than a whole box of them.
If you are looking to buy some soon, I have about 75 of them and I am looking to sell. Let me know if you are interested :)
What a perfect party...I bet your guests had a fabulous time! The details were so fun!
Oh my goodness, I'm throwing a Spring Fever bridal shower for my sis this weekend, and I soooo wish I could steal all your decor! First I steal your invites, then your decor :) I'm a real copycatter.
Courtney, that came out so cute! I love target so much!! I seriously walk into that store and without fail forget why i cam because everything is so distracting!!
So cute Courtney! I love reading your blog, it gives me such good inspiration for my own things :-) BTW my best friend just got engaged and she is trying to plan an outdoor wedding on a budget in OC, do you have any location suggestions?
Looks beautiful! It's such a great idea, and kudos with the great color palate!
So, so cute! I love my Cricut machine too! Do you know how to make cupcake holders with it? I've been looking for info about it.
I found you through Celebrations at Home.
WOW! so cool. All of your stuff is so fabulous! LOVING it :)
Love it!! Do you mind sharing what Cricut font you used on the boxes and banner? I am looking for a new font and loved that one!! Thanks!
I am planning a baby shower and the paper that you used for the Spring banner would be perfect. Where did you get it? Thanks for the ideas!
The font is schoolbook plantain, I believe. To the last commenter: I got the paper at a variety of places. Some was by Amy Butler, purchase at Michaels a while ago. Others were from a scrapbooking store in Orange County called Timeless Treasures. The polka dot and butterfly paper is from Paper Source (I believe that you can buy those styles online as well). Hope that helps!
This party is so beautiful. What park is that? I am trying to find a spot for my daughter's second birthday and I think that you are local to us. Many thanks!
Hi! The party was held at a community park in Escondido. It's right on Eagle Crest golf course. Good luck with your daughter's birthday!
Bravo, seems to me, is a brilliant phrase
