Back in action

I am officially back from maternity leave. That means I am available to schedule appointments and will have increased phone and email access. Please be patient as I am still a new mommy first and a wedding planner second :)

Speaking of the little guy, here is a recent pic:

Heather & Gian's engagement pics

I love this couple! Heather & Gian will be getting married next June at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu and I cannot wait! They are such a sweet couple and I am really enjoying getting to know them as we work on their wedding.

Jasmine Star is on board for their wedding which makes me even more excited. She took some incredible engagement photos of the two of them at my alma mater, UCLA. Gian is a psychology professor & Heather is also an alum- we actually figured out that there is even a chance we may have been in the same lecture together! They have a really fun story- they met pretending that they were a couple as they were working in relationship research. You can read more about it on Jasmine's blog.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from their engagement session:

How fun is this shot? They took a sequence of these for their save-the-dates:

Tin Parade!

My friend & mentor, Ryan of Savoir Flair Weddings, just launched her new endeavor- Tin Parade.

They offer the cutest vintage party kits- I absolutely love them! If you are looking for a party that doesn't include Disney characters, they have some great products and ideas. Check out their website!

Update

Well, today was David's prediction. We are only about midway through the day, and while it still could happen, it's not looking too promising.

At our doctor's appointment this morning, I was 2 1/2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. A little progress at least. She said she tried to "stir things up in there". Not sure what the means, but if it works, by all means, stir things up!

For now, I am walking a lot. Can't wait to meet our little man!

Waiting...

Less than two weeks to go... I can't believe it.

We had a doctor's appointment today and I've dilated a whole 1/2 a cm over the past week, putting me at a whopping 1 1/2. I really expected some change because with the amount of pelvic pressure I have been feeling the past couple days I figured he was a little closer to joining this world :)

The actual due date is October 23rd. My doctor has said over the past two weeks that she thinks I'll be early. This is good and bad. Good because it has given me extra motivation to get things ready sooner. Bad because I'm getting a little anxious.

I just cannot fathom that I will be a mom any day. The reality is so hard to wrap my mind around. It has set in more now that I have washed his little socks and onesies. After packing bags for the hospital. After taking a prayer walk with my husband this morning and praying earnestly for this little life.

And tonight it really hit me. I was looking through pics that my sister-in-law Lindsey sent and got teary looking at my beautiful nieces & nephew. When I got to the pictures from the hospital when Silas was born, I got completely choked up. That is when it set in- our Isaiah will be here with us soon. No longer a stomach, but a sweet baby. How I long for that moment!

So many emotions: joy, anxiousness, excitement, fear, insufficiency, a new tugging on my heart for a little person I have yet to meet. What an adventure we are in for.

For now, we wait. And pray- a lot.

Maternity pics!!

I'm so excited! A couple of weeks ago, the wonderful Jasmine Star came over and took some shots of me, David & my prego belly. We had such a great time playing in the nursery and loving on my belly.
When I got home last night, I was ecstatic to find an email from Jasmine, asking permission to blog some of the images. David and I love them and we watched the slideshow about 7 times before going to bed!

Here are a few of our favorites:

I am such a sucker for little boy shoes... I've already bought more than I probably should :) Also, you will notice in the top right hand corner- a little bit of blue & gold pride. Yep- Isaiah already has his first UCLA outfit!

To see more, check out Jasmine's blog. There is also a slideshow of more of pics- to see it, click here.

Jasmine, thank you so much for your incredible gift! We will treasure these pictures as they capture the excitement & joy we are feeling throughout this unique time in our lives. Thanks again friend!

*Side note: Doctor called yesterday and she thinks he will fit! :) So, no C-section for now. By the way, I feel a little weird posting pictures of myself on my blog... but I figured you'd enjoy seeing how big my belly is and that you would appreciate Jasmine's beautiful work.

More details from Jen & Greg's wedding

Here are a few more detail shots from the June wedding of my dear friends, Jen & Greg. These were taken by the incredible Jasmine Star. For more info on vendors & venues, see my previous post about their wedding.

Jasmine even caught a ridiculous one of me & my hubby heating up the dance floor. He looks about 17 in this picture :)
