Nick & Nicole's Beach Wedding

Back in July, I had the pleasure of coordinating Nick & Nicole's wedding at the Catamaran Resort. It was a beautiful event and Nick & Nicole were so fun to work with.

Here is a glimpse into their day, with photos by Claudia from Sundance Photography:

One of my favorite design elements of this wedding was the altar piece, which was built by one of the couple's friends. Look at the amazing details:

Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, Nick and Nicole had a wine blending ceremony. How fun is that? I thought it was a very unique twist on the tradition, keeping the meaning of two lives becoming one, but making it unique to the couple's tastes.

Beachy themed weddings can often air on the cheesy side, but there are ways to have a really classy, simple, elegant and unique beach wedding. For instance, the altar above was made out of bamboo and featured orchids. Here are a few other details:
Instead of a ring pillow, a shell was used.

Programs were made into fans, using bamboo handles. A bamboo motif was also used on all of the stationary. The colors of the wedding were blue and brown, with touches of white and tan- bringing in the colors of the natural beauty of the venue.

We also incorporated in rocks. I loved this! They were scattered down the sides of the aisle, creating a pathway with rose petals in the middle. We used them on the escort card table and on each tablesetting.

The tablesettings were beautiful. Tan Linen table clothes with blue linen runners & napkins, with fun white square chargers. We also brought in wood chiavari chairs.

All rentals provided by Classic Party Rentals.

We also hung white lanterns to soften the feel of the ballroom.

Nick & Nicole did a great job of pulling together all of the elements of their wedding. An easy way to do this is with the stationary. They had awesome invitations, and they carried the design all the way through every detail: on the programs, menu cards, and favor card.

Instead of favors, Nick & Nicole made a donation to the Livestrong Foundation, in honor of those in their lives who had battled cancer. As a token of this, each guest was given a Livestrong bracelet, which were displayed on the table on a bamboo stick atop of a card explaining the donation (see photo above).
